Founded in 2024 by Nora Noack and Samuel Barckhausen, WERCK Workshop is a future-oriented architecture practice based in Dresden and a capital observatory in Berlin. The office operates at the intersection of research and practice, drawing on a continuous exchange between academic inquiry, material experimentation, and built work. Strongly connected to the university while deeply rooted in making, WERCK develops architecture through prototyping, collaboration, and hands-on construction. Every project evolves in close dialogue with clients, consultants, craftspeople, and a broader interdisciplinary network. The practice focuses on the thoughtful transformation of existing buildings, understanding the built environment as a valuable source and the starting point for new forms of architecture. Its ambition is to create places that are valued, cared for, and embraced over time. WERCK aims to create places that people grow attached to. Places that are used, adapted, maintained, and ultimately worth keeping.
